About Me

My photo
Ntwadumela (In-twy-do-may-la) means, “He Who Greets With Fire. With the various biblical examples of God in the Old and New Testaments manifesting his presence as fire, poet Ntwadumela simply means the poet who greets with the presence of God. As a Christian poet I am striving to express God to people, people to God, and our view of God to each other. It is my belief that the enemy of all souls has organized and specific strategies for deceiving and destroying humans. A high priority in these strategies is the dividing of us from each other, the fostering of hate in the world and the belief that if you and I don't agree that somehow means I don't have to love you. It is my desire to to shed light on these strategies and help us all to know God the more.

Baal Worship Part 1

In the previous messages Adam and Eve and the present day deception Part 1-A we introduced and explored man as a three part being, spirit, soul and body, and the three pronged attack the enemy uses against man. We also touched on the makeup of man's soul, will intellect and emotion. We will now touch on the attack on man's emotions through Baal worship.

The false religion of Cain that we have explored in previous messages became more sophisticated as it splintered into different religions and followed humans as they spread throughout the earth. Baal worship in its many forms is very old. We see Baal worshiped by the Canaanites throughout the Old Testament but this spirit was not limited to them. Baal worship was called by different names and presented in different forms but the spirit of the religion remained essentially the same. The form that Baal took to the Greeks was Zeus, to the Romans he was Jupiter, and to the Phoenicians he was Adonis. In our society he is not worshiped as a god but followed as a part of a popular world view or philosophy for life, but in any society of any age it is this spirit that attacks and corrupts our natural affections.

The sematic word Baal means husband or possessor or lord or prince. This spirit corrupts the natural affection of a husband or father or uncle for that matter, any man that is supposed to be a protector or depended on by a wife, daughter etc. As part of this original worship men were expected to abuse, sexually and otherwise, the women in their household, including young daughters. The original festivals included abuse of any women by any man including complete strangers. Young boys were taught this abuse as normal behavior. The spirit of Baal worship is the spirit to corrupt any natural affection between men and woman of any kind and at any age.

In our society when we see a man unexplainable unable to express any feelings of love for a wife or daughter we are witnessing the spirit of Baal worship at work. These men may not be trying to be cruel but their affections are under attack by an ancient spirit. When we find men who are controlling, lacking natural affection, abusive or cruel to woman in general we are seeing this ancient spirit at work. The proliferation of pornography and the routine objectification of woman is part of this spirit. Anytime a woman is treated like a possessed thing and not a fellow human it is the spirit of Baal.

Baal worship is alive and well in our society even if it is not called a religion or recognized as a spiritual corruption of the natural affection that God granted men and women in Eden. The only cure for us is the love of Jesus restoring and healing our natural affections.

Next week: Baal Worship Part 2.
