“Behold what manner of
love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called the children of
God! Therefore the world does not know us because it did not know him.” 1 John
3:1
God’s love for us has the power to transform you and I from
our current state to the children of God. John in the above scripture is amazed
that we should be called God’s children. In our imperfection, as we strive
every day to be more like Jesus, God counts us his children. As God’s children we
are counted heirs with God and joint heirs with Christ. Romans 8:17 There is
nothing in us that would merit such an honor and benefit. God’s love has the power
to transform us from lost souls to his children and inheritors of all that
belongs to him.
God has given us the power to share his love to the world.
As God’s heirs we are able to share his love to anyone we meet. If God loved us
enough to forgive us and call us his children then as Heirs of his love we must
share his grace and his love to the world. As God’s love has changed our lives
and brought healing so we can share his love to others and bring healing. The
most powerful force in the world for good is the love of God, and through that
power we are made heirs to the ability to share that love.
We can do many good things but if it does not proceed from
the love of God then it is worthless! Corinthians 13. Our prayer life, our
worship, our good deeds, the work of our hands, must proceed from the love of
God. The love of God is the power we have inherited from God to be used in the
earth. The smallest act by the smallest child has unlimited power if it is offered
with the love of God.
