God's love is given to us constantly through our ability to choose life at any time. In our previous message "Adams Other Choice" we understand that the same choice that Adam and Eve had in the garden is the same choice we face today. We can follow Life through God's word (The Tree Of Life) or we can follow death through our own philosophy (The Tree of the knowledge Of Good and Evil).
What happens if my choices in life cause me pain, depression, hurt, disappointments, loneliness, etc.? All these things and many more are just symptoms of spiritual death. Jesus in John11:25 tells Martha that he is the Resurrection and the Life. Martha understood that her brother Lazarus would be resurrected in the last day but she didn't understand that Jesus was also in the business of giving Life separate from Resurrection, even when receiving Life seemed impossible.
I wonder if we understand that we can receive Life in any circumstance. Jesus did not resurrect Lazarus because if he had Lazarus would have never died again because that is the nature of Resurrection. Jesus gave Lazarus Life and that is what he seeks to do for us. Jesus told us that he came that we might have Life and not only Life but to have abundant Life, John10:10.
There is nothing you can do that would make God give up on you. Jesus wants to give Life even when you find yourself in the worst circumstance. Lazarus was conquered by death. Death had Lazarus in the grave four days and there was no hope. Jesus gave him Life and Lazarus was able to live the rest of his life and the Resurrection was still in his future.
Jesus will give us the ability to eat from the Tree of Life no matter what our circumstance. If we choose Jesus he will choose us, if we don't choose him he will still choose us by waiting and giving us every opportunity to choose him.
He is not only the Resurrection but he is "The Life".
